Veterinary Technician

KVH is a three doctor, small animal practice on the southern coast of Maine.  We’ve spent the last 30 years building a wonderful clientele who value our role in their families.  It is not unusual for us to care for pets from multiple generations of a family.  We have a solid reputation–regularly earning 5 stars and maintaining a 98% rating for “would refer a friend.”  You could be proud to work here. We’re a strong team, where everyone is valued and respected.  We have a good time and work every day to be better than the day before.   It is a place where you can have a real impact on the way care is delivered and on the lives of the people and pets we serve. We have a low turn-over rate and are increasing our staffing because we’re growing.  We have some newer staff, but most of us have been here more than 5 years, some 15-20.  For the health of our patients and the sanity of our team members, we’re looking for the right person to round out the team—and we’re willing to take our time to find the right fit.  We want whoever we add to the mix to be happy here for a long time. Veterinary Technician Core Competencies: We’re looking for licensed Vet Techs, or those with the equivalent experience who were trained “on the job.”   You’re looking at ads on this site, so you know what that entails.  Surgical, dental and laser skills are appreciated, but not required.  We are willing to provide training for an experienced Vet Tech lacking a particular skill set, provided they are proficient overall. You’ll be the right fit if you have a warm, approachable manner, a commitment to learning, integrity and compassion, a strong work ethic and attention to detail.  The candidate must be able to manage all the standard physical aspects of being a Vet Tech or Assistant, such as lifting and restraining cats and dogs of various sizes, handling standard inventory weights, and standing for long periods of time. This position qualifies for benefits.  To learn more and apply, please email your resume and references to [email protected].
