Interactive Diagnostic Cytology with Dr. Dennis DeNicola

During this two-hour session, we will use actual clinical case material as a sounding board for an open discussion.  The basic principals of diagnostic cytology will be emphasized, which is something that can be applied to all species and all specimens.  As questions are asked by the presenter of from the participants, we will dig a little further into some of these basics.  Both inflammatory and non-inflammatory conditions will be presented for discussion.  The objectives of this session is to demonstrate how many cytologic specimens can actually be evaluated in the practice setting as well as understanding when something must be sent to a specialist.  Along the journey, tricks/clues to how information from a cytologic specimen can be maximized to assure proper patient management and correct further diagnostic investigations.
