International Association of Fly Fishing Veterinarians Meeting
The Bighorn River
Fort Smith, Montana
Saturday, May 09, 2020, 8:00 AM to Friday, May 15, 2020, 5:00 PM EDT
Category: Outside Events

The International Association of Fly Fishing Veterinarians (IAFFV) was founded 22 years ago to provide continuing education opportunities for veterinarians at fly fishing destinations.

At this 2020 IAFFV Spring program, Dr. Eric Herrgesell will present 14 hours of RACE certified C.E. titled “General Radiology and Imaging updates for 2020”. Topics will include digital radiology, ultrasound, CT Scanning, MRI, and other timely information appropriate for our 21st century.

Dr. Herrgesell served on the faculty as an Assistant Professor in Radiology for 7 years. In May 2005, UC Davis students selected Dr. Herrgesell for the Norden Distinguished Teacher award. Since July 2005, he has operated a very successful radiology consultant practice throughout the Sacramento, California area. Dr. Herrgesell has been an invited speaker at large national veterinary conferences across the country as well as internationally, covering topics in radiology and ultrasound.  His didactic approach is one of a cased-based orientation where the majority of information is covered in a discussion-challenging format. He is as much an internal medicine specialist as he is a radiologist.

Continuing Education begins for 6-8  hours on Sunday, the day following our arrival. The next 4 days will be spent fishing with 1.5-2 hours of C/E in the morning before leaving for the river.  We will fish from both drift boats and with waders. Guides associated with the lodge encourage catch and release. Scenery is spectacular and the water crystal clear. The Kingfisher Lodge, www.bighornkingfisher.com, will be our headquarters for this program, and our hosts Brock and Jenny Boedecker, will insure that we are fed right and sleep well.
